First IMO a nice u shaped kitchen would be better than an island . As for the rest we need a to scale floor plan showing the wall you think about removing and that space beyond too. Do the drawing on graph paper it makes it much easier to do. Show every window , doorways where those lead if the appliances are staying those measurements too If plumbing can't be moved mark that . Do not show anything not to be in the space like cabinets . Every measurement clearly marked posted here in a comment in jpeg formt and additional info also here in comments Oics are helpful but not really for a new kitchen design. DO NOT START another post .

There is no way to read the plan it needs to be posted in jpeg format so we can enlarge it those measurements need to be much darker and bigger too.

What are your plans for the flooring since taking down the wall will impact it?

So removing the wall opens the space visually but you aren’t expanding the kitchen into the dining. Seems the current plan gets you a nice big island and an inaccessible fridge. I’d rather have some of that wall back so the fridge was in the kitchen.

The plan you posted is awfully hard to read, but based on the pictures I can't see how removing that wall is a positive for you. Usually the wall between the kitchen and dining room is only removed in smaller homes. It looks like you have room for a table in the open area next to the kitchen, so why do you want to open the kitchen up to the dining room?

I am not an open concept fan. I've got more artwork than wall space as it is.

Even if you love open concept island is a barrier between sink and island. it seems like kitchen open to family room but separate LR/DR is optimal. looks like there is room for a table if you want a more casual kitchen table.
