You can never have too much storage. Also, I "think" the reduction in light will not be as noticeable once you have bathroom mirrors up especially if they are large and span most of the wall space available.

This is true, mirrors could definitely make a difference. I will have to look for the largest size. I appreciate the feedback.

I'm not even sure what we would put in there. 😆 It was just something we thought would be a good idea, but after seeing everything installed yesterday I'm really missing the open space feel.

It looks out of place and out of proportion.

”I’m really missing the open space feel” is reason enough to remove it. Since you don’t really need the storage, it needlessly disects that open wall.

Since you have a lot of cabinet space, i would remove and place with two mirrors or slim mirrored medicine cabinets above each sink - giving extra storage with light getting through.

I regret putting towers in my primary bathroom: 2 sinks with a tower at each end. Not because of cutting off light -- but mainly because it used up counter space. Also, I have a problem with water dripping onto the bottom of the towers and causing the wood to deteriorate. I should have at least required that the bottom edge of the wood towers be covered with the e-stone used on the countertop. I don't need the extra space the towers give me, especially the top shelf, which is well beyond my reach.

I guess it's a lesson learned! It sounded good in theory, but after being installed I don't think it was a good idea. I also thought about the not being able to reach the top shelf, but did not consider the water issue. I'll have to remove it at some point, but unfortunately it's not in my budget to redo it at the moment.

You have a couple of options to consider:

1. Removing the middle cabinet entirely if you don;t need this extra storage.
2. Recessing the middle cabinet into the wall, maintaining the extra storage and having the light flow.

Both options could potentially open up the space and allow more natural light from the window to illuminate the area.

Before making a decision, evaluate your storage needs, cost to modify and discuss these options with your installer or a professional to determine the feasibility and costs involved in modifying the cabinet.
