Kitchen Work Triangle & Dishwasher Placement

1. Are there any issues with the distance between the sink and the cooktop? I heard the maximum distance should be no more than 9'. I assume that is from center of the sink to center of the cooktop. Adding 1.5' on each side brings that distance to 8' 3". I'm concerned about being near the maximum and the efficiency of moving between the sink and the cooktop.

2. Any comments on the placement of the dishwasher and trash? The food prep area will be to the left of the sink, above the dishwasher. And the items in the dishwasher will be stored in the upper and lower cabinets to the left of the dishwasher.

3. Any other comments welcome! FYI the two 60cm cabinets in center of the open counter will likely change. I hope the jpeg appears clear...

Thank you for any comments and ideas!

Guidelines in any design are exactly that . A guide . IMO kitchens first and always need to function for how you cook. I run a catering biz from my home so my needs are a bit different but when just my hubby and I are using e kitchen it still needs to function well for us. DW placement is one thing that seems to be a big deal here . Iam left handed but my DW is to the right of my sink and works fine for all who use it. I use drawers for all my base cabinets except under the sink and if I was doing my kitchen now I would aslo do the darwers under my sink. I have fw upper cabinets and I find those nice wide deep draowers work for so much stuff. My biggest issue is to not cross in front of the range to get from fridge to sink that is my big deal. Really think about how you cook the design of your kitchen needs to reflect that always first. My trip from frdige to range a lot less than my trips from fridge to sink often . Sit down with I hope an actual KD not a cabinet salesperson to get the best design you can get for how you cook.

A few issues that I note in your plan. Is the bar area level with your kitchen counter surface or is it elevated? I cannot discern that in your plan, so I am a bit confused when I see waterfall ends to the counters on the bar at both ends, including the area that is a shelf to the right behind the steam oven, fridge, and pantry. The swing of the fridge doors will interfere with the dishwasher. How does the steam oven open? Will its swing interfere/bump the refrigeration unit to its right? While the fridge system is noted as panel ready, wood can be dented as easily as stainless steel. I do understand that there are limitations based on your space.

    No......

would not do that, and you have not enough information as to all surrounding areas. Is it a build or a reno? and not legible enough dimensions

Stop thinking hard/fast triangles and think logical progression instead. You want to be at a sink when your family is grabbing snacks at your fanny? No......you don't.

You also do not want a dish washer between a COOK and a sink.

There's just not enough info. If it's a reno, show the existing conditions, and if a build? show the entire living floor.......labeled in all cases with feet and inches. It's a USA site of lazy people.

    I would hate that layout.

Maybe it could work for a single person who never has anyone else in the kitchen/house.
