More first blooms and lates blooming!

The weather has been great the past four or five days, got a lot done in the gardens. Moved about 10 daylilies, removed some more unwanted tall phlox. All this work was so much easier after the rain we got early in the week.

First blooms ever on Kennesaw Mtn. Lemon Sorbet, I think I will like this one.

First bloom ever on this older Goldner daylily, Sunny Intervals. The Goldner seedling I have has done great, guessing this one will also do well.

First bloom of the season, it’s second, on Savannah Debutante. Tall and spotless blooms in the short time it has been here.

Finally got a clump shot on When My Sweetheart Returns. This daylily requires a good amount of shade to keep the blooms from melting. Would be more prolific with more sun.

First blooms this week on my newly divided division of Laura Harwood. This clump gets less sun. The scapes are shorter but the blooms have been spotless.

Coral Majority started this week. Scapes seem shorter this season while most of my other daylilies have taller scapes.

Nat, that is the only photo I have, it is finished blooming. I missed a few nice blooms to photograph. Will post more when it blooms again.

Once again Sherry, I LOVE looking at your day lilies pictures! They are so beautiful and so pleasing to the eye. I like seeing the intricacies of each bloom. Hard to pick a fav but I’m a sucker for coral and yellow flowers. Thanks for sharing!

How nice of Laura Harwood to arrange herself so that you can get a lovely picture of her. She does well for you and with no spotting or canoeing petals she is a looker alright.......Sunny Intervals has my kind of coloration. Do you ever look at Oak Hill daylilies? At one time Bonnie had a nice collection of Goldner and Klehm seedlings and cultivars. I only wish my climate would cooperate in growing them or I'd have some myself...........Maryl

Maryl, yes i have been on Oak hills website and have purchased from Bonnie. I do remember her having Goldner seedlings, such good customer service.

My Coral Majority was also shorter than other lates I grow, and I have no idea why. I do like your Lemon Sorbet. When My Sweetheart Returns is always a pretty one!

Ooh I really like KM Lemon Sorbet. It's my favorite. May I ask where you bought it?

How interesting that such a light daylily as When My Sweetheart Returns needs more shade. Laura Harwood looks so pretty! Mine are so very clean this year, yay!

Nat. I got K.M. Lemon Sorbet on the lily auction from lynnsdeals. She lives about 20 miles north of me so I thought it would grow here too.
