Where should tile backsplash stop at

I am renovating my kitchen and need advice on the backsplash design. As shown in the attached 3D drawings, there is a pass through counter which is at 42”H sitting between the range cabinets and a 44” wide peninsula. I will have quartz countertop and the backsplash will be ceramic tiles. I am going to have tile backsplash up to the bottom of the upper cabinets or the range hood, and will not tile anywhere above that level. At the moment, I intend to do tile backsplash on the range wall, the small wall behind the main sink up to the lower floating shelf, the back walls next to the fridge cabinet and above the bar sink counter. Now my question is: Should I tile the side walls (marked A & B in the drawings) on either side of the pass-thru opening? While I am inclined to tile the side walls too in order to aesthetically connect the two runs of cabinets, I have no idea where the tiles should stop at. What makes the decision even more difficult is that the pass-thru counter does not reach the cabinet counter on the left side, and sits above the peninsula countertop on the right side.

I am also not sure if I should tile the side walls (marked C) of the mini wet bar. Will the 3-sided tiling make the area feel cramped as it is just about 30”W by 20”D? I worry about moisture or water damage if the side walls are not tiled.

For the side wall (marked D) on the far right of the fridge, it will not be tiled. I am open to any suggestion though.

Don't do the side walls on A, C & D. I need to see a head on view of B to get a better idea of what should be done there. The top-down views aren't great for making these decisions. If the kitchen is done except for the backsplash show us pictures of the spaces. If it's not to that point yet can you put off this decision? What tile are you using (size and appearance) and in what pattern?

In most cases you stop a backsplash at an inside corner.

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Our renovation was delayed due to a family emergency, and our project manager also took a month off for a home leave in Europe. Thankfully, we have caught up recently with the kitchen nearing completion. Attached are photos of a head on view of A and B (the pass though opening). At the corner of wall B, there will be two floating display shelves of 1 ½” thick each (not shown in photo), with the lower one 19” above counter and the upper one 13” apart. The tiles are 2.5” x 5” and I will use two colors, white and off grey and in a stacked pattern as shown in the photo.

Some people would suggest that I leave all those walls untiled to avoid creating a weird look if the backsplash is not done right. I somehow think that it may look cheap if I leave too much kitchen wall untiled. Right now I am considering not tiling the left side of B, but the right side, that is the back wall of the floating shelves from the counter all the way up to the ceiling. I hope this will create a small feature wall in our kitchen, as well as visually increase the ceiling height. We have an 8 ft ceiling minus a 6” drop in the kitchen for the lighting and vent duct. Please share your thoughts. Any comment and suggestion would be much appreciated.

@BeverlyFLADeziner Thank you for posting those pics. I do like ending the backsplash at inside corners which creates a very nice and neat look. For my kitchen peninsula, however, there is only one inside corner and the "back wall" stops half way. The floating shelves also stop half way, not to the edge, on both sides of the corner walls. How do I tile and where do I stop the backsplash, both vertically and horizontally?
