Pool House Renovation in the Northeast

Hi,

We live in the Northeast and are renovating our pool house, which is only used for three months of the year. We are removing the shower that we haven't used in the 13 years we have lived here and intend on keeping it a bathroom/dressing room and storage area for items used when entertaining guests by the pool (towels, goggles, sunscreen, etc.).

We have the layout set and will use a similar porcelain tile that we used to surround our pool with for the pool house floors since it's pretty "slip-proof." We intend to choose a porcelain tile for most of the walls as well. My question is this: Since the pool house only has a ceiling fan, is small, and doesn't have HVAC, what materials should we use for the cabinetry that won't warp and doesn't require much maintenance? I don't love the look of cedar, and I am trying to avoid a sauna-like look. I am open to materials that come in a variety of finishes or that can be stained or painted but not if it needs to be stained or painted every few years.

I included the photo below as inspiration for what I am looking for in terms of cabinetry aesthetics.

@Lauren Cohen : In FL they sell cabinet that are made from "polymers" for use outside in hot/humid weather year around. No maintenance required and they come in several styles and colors. I ordered through my builder so I don't know the exact brand, but I just googled and they are similar to this product. This company seems to be the main manufacturer and they do custom orders.

The inspo pictures you show aren't cabinets, they appear to be hand made by a carpenter. I am not sure you can find components like that from some of the outdoor cabinet companies ( I can be very wrong). If you can't find something from a cabinet company, then do a stained wood. It would stand up better to the temp swings than a paint will. JMO

Since no shower anymore the issues with moisture will be a lot less. Ikea does some outdoor storage that could work. Since everything is put away when swim season is done only the storage needs to stand up to temp swings . IMO no need for super expensive stuff that is really stored inside not out in the elements .

Thank you all so much for your responses. Just to clarify, our contractor Our contractor is building out the interior for us, including the storage built-ins and benches.
He suggested cedar which I am not fond of and isn’t the look I envision and another material called Ipe which I believe can be stained.
I am going to look into the polymer options and werever options/suggestions since they will be permanent fixtures. suggestions listed above.
I appreciate the feedback and for any other suggestions anyone else may have.

I have trim made of fly ash or poly ash which is a recycled by product and polymers, and it paints like regular millwork.
