A to scale floor plan on graph paper in feet and inches since this is a US site Show where the toilet is since moving them is expensive and often not possible without huge mess .IMO if you have atub somewhere else in the home you do not need another so a nice big shower would be great . If everyone in your family showers, then you don't really need a tub. Especially a SEPARATE tub.

In my area, a home is only expected to have one tub. At most.

It's an unrealistic expectation to think MOST homeowners have the sq footage to have these spa luxury bathrooms. Separate tub/shower is a HUGE space commitment most just do not have and cannot afford to commit to a bathroom!! The world, particularly the world of adults shower. Got it. BUT over the lifetime of a house a bathtub is NEEDED. Not just wanted but NEEDED so yes for resale I think every house ought to have a bathtub somewhere in it. It makes the most sense for it to be accessible to the most people but hey in the end if it's there it will get checked off the list of 'must have in a home' list. It sounds like you are in the majority. You do not have room for separate tub/shower and for some reason feel the combo that is THE MOST COMMON in homes is not on your radar. You should be fine putting in a shower room in your main bathroom. It's not OPTIUMUM for most but it will not detract. Here's a question that may or may not be relevant. What does one most often use a bathroom for? When you are in that room the highest percentage of the time--what are you doing? It's curious we don't work overtime optimizing that experience.

I like 5 the best, with the largest vanity possible. Where is the toilet now? When remodeling bathrooms I always start by trying to keep the toilet where it is because that's the most challenging plumbing to move. In two instances we just pivoted it 45 degrees. In one instance we moved it just 9 inches to the next joist cavity. If you move it across the room it's a bigger deal. If you move everything else as well a good part of your budget is going to go to the plumber.
