Will there be a railing? Is there a view in one particular direction? Blank slate but what did you have in mind for couches, loveseats, chairs, table etc. How do you plan to use the deck (how many people, meals, parties, etc.)? Size and quanity will play a huge part in what you use. How high off the ground? Is there a door to the deck and where is it? Backyard? House pictures?

Here’s a picture. It has a railing. I have a family of 5 so I’d love at least 5 seats. We are also adding a patio and covered pavilion with a fireplace and tv so there will eventually be more sitting area for entertaining but for now just need the deck.

I’m open to any furniture type. I initially thought just 5 or 6 nice wicker chairs so they can be moved around in any way we need. I like the loveseats but might save them for the patio.

My hubby does competition BBQ so we also have a huge grill and a smoker I find the smoker best not under any cover and far away from windows so strat there . I think if youare dooing a seating area somehwere else I would this space more like a kitchen / DR . I very often layout decking or patios like a house . I have 2200 sq ft of deck but some is around the pool and the disdes of the house but all across the back we have seating for 12 then the outdoor kitchen grill under cover but smker off away form the windows and then DR space that can actaully sea 20 if needed with an extra table So think about how you will use the spaces . I do not like lovesats inside but they work well outside I find we have 2 of them , 4 chairs and a long builtin bench with a back I find if you arrange the seating to be like the LR no need for much moving around of the pieces.

Nice deck! I would find a home for the grill and smoker off the deck. Create a small pad.....if on the deck, fumes will enter the windows.

Having a smoker and grill on the deck will definitely limit choices and set up - no one wants to be sitting nearby. Place both on the deck and then consider the distance, the doorway/traffic flow/availble space. Seeing furniture in a store is deceiving, so be sure you calculate based on the allocated space. Sounds like the deck may be used for dining when patio is completed. Good quality outdoor furniture is expensive, so consider how your deck choice will accommodate the eventual patio needs and if store will be carrying the line.
