Does anybunny know tomorrow is Aug 1?

Tomorrow is the 1st of the month and if the first words out of your mouth are "rabbit rabbit" you'll have good luck all month. Anytime after midnight is fine and no need to say it to anyone.

Best of luck to all.

Recycled GARBAGE gets a ton of play this season.

No I don't know so thank you for the reminder.

I do and I even get out my bunny tail. Thanks for reminding us.

    Thanks, Annie!

I told dh we are going to say 4 rabbits as this month has had more than it's share of nightmares and difficulties!!

I might say it for an hour since this month has been so crappy

I was a day ahead and said "rabbit Rabbit" this morning. I'll count that as practice. LOL

Annie, I so agree with you. may was great and June started out to be good too. It’s been a challenge since the 18th when i had my accident. We all need to double up.

Things are looking up and if I can just get permission to drive again I’ll feel a lot better. Poor DH has been great tho. Doesn’t complain except to kid about ‘Driving Miss Crazy’.

July has been a long and weird month. Glad to see its almost over. Thanks Annie!

I will say rabbit a hundred times if it makes August go faster. Ive had enough of this stinking weather. Bring on fall.

    Congrats lgmd!

I'm starting now and will continue on the hour till midnight to hopefully get rid of this hideous summer. The only good thing is the change in the political climate.

Thanks for the reminder. I have a medical procedure in the morning, so will add a few rabbits to the requisite two.

Will say a few rabbits for you as well sushi!

I actually did it last night! I always mean to but forget.

I did, but can I pass my luck onto someone who needs it more?

    ;)

I normally go to bed around midnight, so it’s easy for me. 😁

I'll take your luck if available Rob - it's been just about two years of difficulties and disappointment but the weeks since my nephew's fall mid April have been particularly hard. About 12' onto cement and he's still focused and working his way through recovering from 55 fractures. (every rib upped that number) I'm still left in awe daily of his focus and wonderful attitude. His doctors withheld permission for him to make the drive to our family coastal reunion this weekend just yesterday. They had the room adjoining ours and I couldn't be more disappointed but he's making steady progress so my disappointment is entirely selfish.

I did remember to rabbit rabbit but only because of Annie's reminder - Thank you Annie! We'll have a better month 😁

Morz, so sorry to hear about your difficulties and your nephew’s fall. I hope things get better for everyone. ❤️

yup, our anniversary next week ... No. 43

Well, I guess today was a pretty good start. My PT told me I could start driving myself if I felt comfortable with it. He said I’ve progressed well and my leg has the strength and flexibility to do so. I’m going to drive in the neighborhood this weekend and (country residential roads) see how it goes. I don’t plan on going anywhere during crazy traffic hours either for a couple of weeks but we’ll see how it goes.

mortz & Outside...I'm so sorry. I understand the importance of being healthy. Looking forward to a toast to you, Outside & mortz's nephews perfect health!

I forgot to say it. Well, I sort of don't say it usually. But...I had good news/luck yesterday, so maybe I should stick with that.

Morz, i meant to comment about your nephew. What a nightmare to go through with all those fractures. The fall itself much have been so frightening. You didn't say how old your nephew is and it really doesn’t matter, but it sounds like he is resilient and has a great attitude. That is most important to a good recovery. I’ve been told that it takes at least 3 months for these major bone fractures and surgical recoveries plus 3 more months, maybe more, for full recovery of flexibility and mobility for some people. Best wishes to him and to all of you who support his recovery.

Thank you to all who expressed concern for my nephew. He turned 53 in June, is father of three young adults and grandfather to three - one of those babies born when he was in intensive care.

He's made remarkable gains. We'd rec'd rather dire prognosis at the beginning, including that he might not make it through that first night. Brain damage is resolved and his intelligence and personality are unchanged. Most of the broken bones resolved. He still has some spinal cord damage that's improving daily. He is so focused, and works so hard at physical therapy I have no doubt he's going to reach his goals. I didn't mean to sound whiny yesterday - I understand we are blessed.

Without writing a book, I would like to say when the doctors were first treating his injuries, he couldn't talk to them, they didn't know him or know how strong and determined he is, his work ethic.

When his children were 2 & 4, his wife dropped them at day care one day and kept going. She never came back. He had to learn to cook, clean, do laundry, style a 2 yr olds long hair - many tasks he'd never attempted while comforting and making toddlers feel safe and loved. The only way he could get them down at night in the beginning would be for the three of them to sleep together. About 3 yrs later he met and married a wonderful young woman with a daughter same age as his (then 5). He managed to work full time to support his new family of 5 and pick up that last year of college evenings. That accomplished, he added 2 masters to his degrees. Once he's made up his mind, there is little he can't do and he does it with love, cheerfully, graciously. He's really very special.

Most days, I'm just proud of him. Once in a while I have a day where I need to cry but that's me - he's greeting each day with determination and optimism. His wife's birthday is 4 days from mine in Sept. His goal right now is to dance with each of us on our shared birthday week.....💕

Your nephew sounds like a wonderful guy. You have every right to be proud. What a remarkable recovery. I'm not sure if you mentioned it, but how did this accident happen?

He would give anything to know just how it happened but he has no memory of the fall. They have a lovely home on an island. They were doing some spring cleanup outside and he'd taken yard debris to their county dump station. The way that worked, the homeowner would pull up on an elevated area and throw things (unassisted) down to the green dumpster below. He was found 12' below and it was assumed he struck himself on the edge of the dumpster before landing on the cement but no one saw it. Someone reported they thought they'd heard a scream about a half hour earlier. He was life flighted to Harborview Trauma in Seattle.

Someone from their insurance company went there a couple of days later to photograph the accident site and found a newly installed safety railing at the edge where people would pull up with their debris. He was very fit, not overweight, doesn't drink 😊and has no idea how he went over the side. He has only been told his dog was in his truck with the door wide open, he was unconscious on the cement below.

Just now reading this thread...and hoping for the best possible outcome. Considering which...The medical expense alone must be catastrophic -- plus all the rest of it, now and in the future. Recovery will not be 'complete', and the future is going to be expensive.

What does the insurance company say? It sounds as though the county could be found at fault for the unsafe situation at the dump.

Does the family have legal representation?

My gosh, Morz. What a horrific experience your nephew has been through.

He sounds like such an amazingly kind and strong person! I hope he heals better and better each day. ❤️

Wow Morz! What a remarkable nephew you have!!

With his determination, nothing can stop him. I'll keep him in my prayers!

Morz8, what a story. Best wishes for your nephew. He sounds very special. We have free dump day” a couple times a year at our transfer station. We used to pull up to a very deep concrete hole and toss your junk in. One year a man fell in and died. The hole had just been emptied so he landed on the deep concrete floor. Needless to say, they no longer allow people go near it.
