Safest plastic quart containers for freezer?

I've been using various plastic freezer containers for many years. The last ones I bought were "BPA" free and had a #2 on the bottom.....which means they could be recycled. Can't seem to find them now. I would prefer to quit using all my old ones, which probably aren't real "healthy" to use.

I'm having trouble finding reasonable ones. I know some out there say "BPA" free....but not if they are recyclable. Any suggestions? And I would prefer it to be made in the U.S. Thanks!

Sorry this post was entered twice. I did find Arrow quart plastic freezer containers that are BPA free and have a #2 on the bottoms. They were very expensive. For some reason, they seem to be very hard to find this year. Instead of ordering even more, ....I was wondering......have any of you put mashed tomatoes in straight-sided mason jars? Just curious how they did and if you had to leave more than an inch at the top for expansion? Thanks!

What I've found is that Arrow makes a plastic quart freezer container that is PBA free and also HDPE (#2), so it's recyclable too. Don't know if this really makes a difference, but I try to be on the safe side.
