Window treatment for Open Space Apartment??

We recently moved into new-construction retirement living. Our open kitchen, dining and living space has 3 "squatty" windows and a door that opens to a balcony.

I love the blackout panels in the bedroom. The door to the balcony is to the left of the fiddle leaf fig. To achieve a coastal/transitional look, would you recommend a faux Roman shades or woven shades similar to these?

OR would you do narrow panels on the windows? Would you recommend any treatment over the door? At this point, I am looking for cost effective ways to get a look I love.

I am very happy with how the bedroom looks.

How would you treat the windows and door to the balcony in the open space?

Remember you are limited to treatments that fit the size of your actual windows. Extending curtains over surrounding wall makes the windows appear larger, whether taller an/or wider. I'd add long curtains above the window trim and wider than your windows. It would be in keeping with your open floor plan. Good Luck

We might suggest trying Roman shades in the living room area and then curtains in the bedroom. Note the 2 very different designs we have done for clients. Notice the curtains and Roman shades.

It is all about light and privacy in your room. If you go with traditional bottom-up roller shades, venetian blinds or roman shades, you always have to close these coverings if you want privacy. Take a look into bottom-up top-down minimalistic shades. They install as inside mount, are only 1 inch in overall depth and you can move them to any position of your windows.

They are extremely versatile and perfect to keep an open concept open.
