can you describe your part shade? Is it morning exposure, afternoon exposure or all day dappled light under trees? It makes a big difference. I am a big fan of Allium millenium. It is lower growing with tidy grassy looking foliage. It blooms for a pretty good length of time, it is deer resistant, pollinator attracting, hardy, adaptable to any free draining soil and it does very well for me with morning sun and afternoon shade.

It is not a typical bulb forming annual. It forms fibrous roots and is easy to divide and multiply.

It's dappled under two Cornelian Cherry trees on either end. Bed runs N-S and as the sun moves, it's sunny then dappled then more sun again later. This is just one section of the bed.

Amsonia fits most of the criteria but lacks the long bloom time. It makes up for it with foliage that doesn’t decline after bloom. Chicago botanical garden did firld trials and has great info on the different varieties
