Master bedroom design - adding color!

Please offer any suggestions to add some color to our master bedroom. Everything is new, it’s just very cream/tan/gold. Fun lamps on the nightstands? Colorful art above the headboard?New bedding and pillows - not sure where to start. For reference there are two burlwood dressers on the opposite side of the room.

To me the mirrors look out of place. After you get lamps see if they work for you. While I don't care for the look at all, I think when this is done by designers the mirrors would be narrower and taller. I think if it were me I would paint the wall behind the bed at least to liven things up, but accessories could make a difference too.

No room for art above the headboard. Your finishes are serene and sophisticated. Nothing about this space shouts out to me fun color! I'd find some beautiful lamps, coordinating pillows and a throw.

I'd look for a duvet cover or throw for your bed that has some of your colors and a dash of something like red or orange. Something like this

The room is very nice. I would suggest different mirrors (or paint the frames a darker tone of the headboard). Lamps will finish it off.

The mirror size is not right. They are too wide and the frame is too bold.

Select mirrors that look good in front of the mirrors.

IMO beeding is the place to start a nbedroom style and decor. You need to post pics of the whole space too Post those in a comment DO NOT start another post IMO neither the mirrors or night tables go with thead board and probably not with the burled wood either .So go get some bedding you love or some art you love then see what colors you love . Those pillows are not good at all not size or how you have them.

Pick a color you love, add some art and bedding and you won't feel like your drowning in a sea of neutral.

If you do want to do all neutrals you need to be braver and mix up the tones - have light and dark pieces and different tones and textures. It is a look of luxury, but sometimes works better in a more luxurious setting. I have smaller, simpler spaces and find color works better for me.

I much prefer art over mirrors. Art gives you a great way to express yourself and make the space your own. Pick something that speaks to you and go from there.

The headboard is so tall there isn't much room for artwork. The thing that does come to mind if you do want something above the headboard is an antique transom especially if you can find one with stained glass. That might be a good way to introduce color and pattern. Perhaps something like this.

Assume you like muted shades and I’d continue in that vein, but with more contrast, layering and warmth. Your room is just not yet pulled together, so think big picture and looking on line for inspiration will really help.

Suggest less ornate mirrors, lowered and with better proportions. Lamp size (especially with your large headboard) will have a big impact as well. Test a few lamps and mirror combinations.

Layer room to add more personality; bedding, chandelier, bench at end of bed or under window, accessories and art (but not over headboard).

It looks like the current mirrors you have over either nightstand are too shory. You could look at replacing them with taller ones, use artwork instead, add some lamps, and some colorful pillows. Please notice the mirrors, artwork, lamps, and pillows in these designs of ours below:
