Bed Style to Match Dresser

Hi, all. We are moving to a new home and I hope to use one of our current dressers in the new guest room.

Our current decor (and this dresser) is rustic farmhouse with modern accents, but in the new house we want to lean toward modern/contemporary (not mid-century per se) with some industrial accents.

My dilemma is what kind of bed frame to pair with the dresser? Or is it hopeless and I should leave the dresser behind. The dresser is large and dark, but does have clean lines. For the new house we're choosing furnishings that are light and minimal, with clean modern lines, so I'd like that vibe to extend to this room.

Dresser we'd like to use
Real estate photo of the guest room so you can see floor color and wall color, which we like and hope to keep. Curtains will stay, but none of the furnishings.
Floor Plan. This is the largest bedroom. The dresser will likely be placed to the right of the door, opposite where the bed is shown in the photo.

Maybe an iron bed frame for a bit of an industrial look. BTW I hate realtors pics they distort space and are not helpful IMO

I was going to suggest black iron as well. We just bought one from Amazon for our guest room, no box spring needed!

I have the Room and Board Jennings bed in Natural Steel which would look nice with your dresser style.

With your dresser, I would opt for an upholstered headboard something simple like this in a colour that will coordinate with your decor (don't have much info...).

Thanks, all, for these suggestions. I was initially thinking about a simple iron frame, but in my research everyone says they are notorious for squeaking. Does anyone have direct experience? I hadn't considered upholstered, but that's an interesting option.

I agree with the others on a iron frame. I do not have direct experience with them, but hopefully the reviews would be revealing. You could even go with a canopy iron bed vs your regular frame - perhaps that could be more sturdy? I would also consider changing the knobs on your dresser to iron/black metal - if that is the color of your bed frame.

This isn't something over which I would wring a hand just yet. It's a drawer chest. It is in a completely separate guest space, on a second floor.

It is a Pottery Ban "Big Daddy" 58 in w, 42 high, 17 deep

You might be stunned the number of places it could go.

That said, and if in the guest?

Get an upholstered bed..Or a simple platform with an upholstered headboard. Add two simple iron and glass top side tables, add lamps.....a bench at the foot of the bed ...

I would NOT be wedded to the wall color- reads a bit nursery yellow. Let a headboard, rug or bedding drive the wall color.
