It is a ridiculously bad design. Not worth 1K.

71K pre discount, not what was paid. Says 48K with discount.

I wouldn't pay anything for a design that doesn't let me open my refrigerator all the way. Also it lacks drawers as mentioned above, and there's just a lot of weirdness, like the uppers on the refrigerator run look odd, and whatever is going on in that corner in the first picture. (Apparently they've never seen cabinets and counter wrap an outside corner.)

And the angled upper corner cabinet, and about 18" of prep space, no landing space for the fridge, no place near the DW to put away dishes, wonky cooktop bumpout...

Why are you bumming me out with awfulness? Show me greatness. Show me an awful space that found beauty and purpose through incredibly clever design. I need a design sundae with a cherry on top. Please.

If you are talking about the $71K / $48K pricing, I think the answer is that nobody pays $71K for that, everyone gets the discount whether it is the big box store discount or the local dealer for that brand discount. The "suggested price" is essentially made up, because no one ever pays the "full price", they get the discounted price.

That is called LIST price and all vendors, box stores, dealers discount from LIST. It's a system that's always been in place due to Manufacturers having different costs for different buyers. For instance, I pay less than dealers in California for a cabinet made here in Ohio, purely due to shipping costs. It just makes it easier for manufacuters to give vendors a "multiplier" for their cost. Then the vendor/retailers/box store marks it up and receives a profits.

Anyway, that design is awful. Stay away from box stores and online retailers.

I have to agree with others -- that's a terrible design. Who designed it? A "box store" employee? Someone else?

Would you like help fixing the many, many issues with that design?

    To name a few issues:

    1. Insufficient work space b/w sink and range (should be a bare minimum of 36" with 42" to 48" much, much better)
    2. Refrigerator that looks like the doors won't open fully
    3. What appears to be a rather large expanse of counters that are wasted b/c they are not located where they're useful

I assume the person is buying the cabinets not the design and has figured out if he/she has the room to place all the cabinets as they need them. So I’m going to forget about the design and focus on the number and size of the cabinets. If the cabinets are in good shape I would say why not if they meet your need. I would say no if buying to just get a deal and can “live with them”. Buy what you really want and don’t settle just because it might be a good deal. You would be second guessing yourself. Before buying have a design plan and wish list and compare it to the cabinets but also price new cabinets so that you are comparing apples to apples.

Was this a post on social media? A friend of yours?

I feel bad for the customer....worst design I've seen in a long time.

The $48K cost could have come down a lot with just plain glass doors. Those mullion doors are pricey! And it doesn't appear they have finished interiors. This salesperson is going to get some callbacks on this one!
