Waht is wrong with the siding you ahve? I am happy you are not painting the brick . If moremodern is the plan then remove the shutters for sure . A darker color siding I like the dark you have above the large window but too gray . Landscaping is going to be what takes the house into a more modern look and a new entry door that does not look like door going into a sun room I like MCM so tend to use this type of door and landscaping for inspiration

Once you choose a manufacturer and product line for siding, look for a warm off white. Or a somewhat darker color that is close to the color of the brick, but not too yellow. Since you're keeping the roof and the brick you need to stick with warm colors. The current white isn't a good fit. The front will look more unified if the siding color is close to the brick color. Remove the shutters and don't put them back after residing. Don't leave any white trim. What color is the gable? It looks too blue-gray. SW's Urbane Bronze looks good with your blonde brick, but you don't want your siding to be this dark. It would be a good color for your front door.

I like BM's Kendall Charcoal works well with the colour of your roof and bricks. I would remove the porch enclosure to show the front door and if necessary have a storm door painted the same colour as the front door. We are re siding as we are changing the deck on the back side of the house that is into the siding. We are also removing two chimneys on the side of the house. There is a little sun porch at the front. We live in an area where we get a ton of snow, so it is nice to have that closed in for the winter. I like the idea of the darker colour.
