It looks like a very nice patio you've got there.

I'm wondering, what relationship do you want the front of the yard to have to the side/back of the yard? To that seating area in the distance? Is the little fence there because you have pets? I am just wondering.

Thank you so much! Yes my little dog is an escape artist until I can figure out a better solution. I want to make the side finished which it’s not now. It’s a drop and when you walk by the end of the deck it’s just there and isn’t right. Because the DG steps are there and at an angle that doesn’t meet the same angle as the end of the deck, the stairs will need to be not typical straight. I don’t know what that’s called. The tree idea was my economic solution but I don’t know if that will look weird.

What are DG steps?

Is the angled part of the deck wide enough to run steps off of that, each one turning a little?

I really love this design. Wow. It will come into the yard some but that’s ok. The curved stairs is exactly what I was thinking but I was thinking to start them when the railing is and curve them to meet the other DG steps. This design is way better, thank you so much. 😊

I would definitely want steps that go out to that side, just to have a walkway down to the gate to the back yard. I really like the railings simply natural put in the picture above. You definitely need railings, for safety. It looks like it will be a nice place to sit, once its all finished.
