Would like to replace slider windows with casement. Two bedrooms have 46x58 windows and require 2-23”x58” casements. The 23” casements do not meet the 20” min width egress open space code. Inspector suggests slider. Each new slider window (2nd floor) is on a wall that would also have a casement on the first floor. Would that look odd to have different styles on different floors on two walls? Reason I want to go casement is 5 windows are 34”x58” sliders that are awkward to open. Thought I made a decision on windows until I talked to the Permit Dept today.
