I love mine made by cal faucet. (So yes available in California). I love just turning the valve to on and it comes out at exactly 105° every time (yes it has to run long enough to drain the cold water out of the lines). The other nice advantage is you can control the pressure- the temperature is preset so the on valve controls pressure too which is useful when cleaning washing a pet.

We have a Grohe valve and are happy with that (also in California). I prefer it to the pressure-balancing valve because it’s an easy on/off, but the pressure-balancing is just fine too.

I see no real advantage to the thermastaic one since we all like different temps in our showers but the pressure balancing is nice when all 3 showers are being used .

^^^ funny husband and I have separate shower heads- mine is 105°, his is 103°. I’m at my summer house now and it’s such a burden fiddling with the adjustments to get the right temperature ;)
