The table won’t fit if I turn it. I took the picture on 0.5 so the room appears a little larger than it actually is. I am going to add the table leaf to make it longer though. and swapping rugs is probably the right move orrrr a new rug all together?? thanks for your advice 🫶🏼🫶🏼

The living room rug looks good there, I would replace the dining area with a new one.

A mural on the left side wall could make this room interesting.

Dark wallpaper either all around or above a chair rail will be consistent with the rest of the house.

@RedRyder nailed it with that wallpaper, and it could potentially even make the copper rug work in that space.

@Kendrah - The thickness of that area rug makes it seem wrong for an eating area. I usually think of a flatter weave in dining rooms since they’re easier to clean if food is dropped. But the color can work with a dark, interesting mural or wallpaper.

Leave the living room rug, and get a new one for the dining room. The living room one goes perfectly with the colors of your furniture.

I think if boho max is your thing then wallpaper all the walls get nice velvet drpes in a color from the wallpaper and af abulous colored chadelier. I would not call your LR either boho or max so please make sure you are asking for the right thing .This is in my head boho max which I am sorry to say would make me want to p--ke I see an actul nice LR with touches of boho without going nuts and I think that is the same as I would try for the DR maybe athe same wall color and a larg pice of art you love and a really cool chandelier and nice silk darpaes in the same as the wall color .

It still deserves a nice rug! You can start with the walls and then find a rug. Or the reverse, but both decisions will make the dining room cozy and inviting.

Please post the size of the dining room…each wall size and window sizes and placement on each wall….rug sizes too

I like the patterned wallpaper, moody though doesn’t have to be dark as a tomb- love the example RedRyder showed with variations in light— then do a more solid rug color or near/ neutral, probably mid- tone to contrast with floor. Thigh, I can see belly of too pale/ to solid rug in a DR; might be able to get a “ false plain” or small geometric. So your LR and DR would be flips of each other— one with pattern on floor/ solid wall and one with the opposite , but taking time to find things that complement each other.
