Use a piece of 1/4 inch graph paper. I/4 inch equals a foot.

It looks like you have kids. Is this the only living room or is there a family room elsewhere?

While you are making the floorplan Jan suggested, you can rotate the ceiling light "wall washer" so that it throws light on the fireplace instead of the wall.

Yes I do have kids and we do have another living room area we spend most our time in. Floorplan is a good idea! Thanks!

You have nice right corner from FP for sectional. I would go with it.

Thanks Celery for the suggestions! I’ve been holding back on putting anything in front of the fireplace because I don’t feel like there’s enough space as it’s the walking path from the kitchen into this room and then the fireplace juts out a bit far for my liking. The last photo you shared might work without the chairs.
