Shower Tile Layout

last modified: 2 years ago

Help me decide on the ceiling layout of our shower. We are using a 2.5 x 10" Glossy White tile laid in a crosshatch pattern. It is very wavy, zellige like, so the grout lines aren't straight (which doesn't bother me). The issue arises when the non-cut tile meets the cut tile, or the liner, and then there's a straight edge. My installer thinks the difference of the non-uniform grout lines next to uniform grout lines will drive me crazy.

We have luxe gold shower trim on both walls. The crosshatch will go on the long wall (which faces the vanity and mirrors). I would also like the crosshatch to go on the shorter wall (main shower head) although my installer thinks I should just do a regular brick layout there. Opinions on whether to do it crosshatch on this wall too?

I need to decide on the ceiling. Do I keep the crosshatch on the ceiling? Or do I do a straight layout?

Here is an images that is similar to my layout. Because of the tile size, it's actually four across, four vertical.

Thank you!
