It can be removed. With a Georgian home, you might want to consider a canopy over the front entrance.

I don’t know how easy it will be to remove but I would do it! I think it will look a lot better with a straighter design.

The entire front entry is a mishmash of style: Greek column side trim, Art Deco glass sidelights, and the pediment. Someone was smokin' something?

IMO start by having that overdone pediment removed and do a flat overhang as Jan showed then remove all the shutters if a more modern vibe is the plan and for mea ll the grids have to go in the windows . Georgian architecture lens itself to a more modern feel with those changes then the landscaping also with a touch more modern feel . I would do a simple double door or at least simple sidelights

I wouldn’t touch it. But the landscape is very traditional and very sparse. New contemporary landscape would help a lot.

It looks great as is. It's a classical touch on a classical house. If you remove it, you may leave a shadow under where it had been, assuming there was matching brick under there to begin with.
