You have a charming Cape Cod home, so much nicer than many builder-grade homes popping up around the country these days.

The photos are helpful, but without a floor plan showing the relationship of the house, kitchen and breezeway, it's difficult to give you any advice. Are you working with a design professional in your kitchen renovation? An architect and/or professional kitchen designer could be very helpful. Do you have a contractor already lined up?

Post a to-scale floor plan if you can and you'll get some good ideas.

I'm not seeing a breezeway--and does it connect to something, like the garage?

It doesn't connect to the garage. Plan is to extend the kitchen to the current wall and use it as a sunroom fully insulated

A breezway connects a home to some other structure which I do not see. They are also treated like a patio or porche where they need to be completly rebuilt from the foundation to make it living space . To scale drawings are really a must and use graph paper to make a bit easier . All measurements clearly marked all space named and all windows and doorways marked . Post here in jpeg format in a comment DO NOT start another post .You will IMO need an achitect too.

I would have a contractor come and tell you what you can and cannot do. It is possible, that what you are wanting, could end up being a much bigger and more expensive job than what you are anticipating. You may have to tear down more to be able to build more. Having a contractor come and take a look at it all, could help you save money in the long run.

@cat_ky is right. Your contractor (or architect) will be better able to tell you where the doors should be. I think extending your kitchen into this area could be terrific if designed well.

I think I understand now. What you are calling a breezeway is a porch off the kitchen. It is going to be a big project, so get a design professional involved. You could get some ideas if you post a more detailed floor plan.
