Awkward living room

Just moved into this house. Unfortunately, I'm having such a hard time with furnishing this space. Hopefully someone can give me some ideas. The kitchen backs onto the living room only really leaving me with 1 full wall and then a small wall across from the fireplace. Sorry for the mess we literally just moved in. I don't want to block any pathways.

I would paint the back wall of the inset dark, like SW Naval, iron ore, something dark. mount the TV above the firebox, put a sofa opposite the FP on the long wall. Group all the faux plants together move the dog bed near the firebox. Keep it simple, uncluttered.

Looks like you have a great corner for a sectional. Or a small side table in the corner with a sofa on the window wall and another sofa or loveseat on the wall opposite the fireplace (not sure of the size of that wall).

If you can post a floor plan with detailed dimensions showing windows and open spaces to the room it would help to suggest a furniture layout.

This is a very tight space -- agree that a floor plan is needed for concrete advice. If this is your only living room, you're going to have to figure out how to get needed seating without impinging on the breakfast bar, and it will not be a ton.

Is this the only space in the house for entertaining or watching TV? If not ----re name it 'hearth room' and treat it as part of the kitchen. Furnish with two big chairs facing the fireplace or one love seat.

I need the plan to scale showing all measurements and also if this is the only LR space . Post the plan here in jpeg format in a comment. To me this space looks more like a FR or DR so I need the floor plan all space named DO MOT start another post

A sectional with one side on the the window wall and the other side on the wall facing the TV. As big an area rug as will fit. An ottoman for a coffee table.

It looks like a small sofa on the small blank wall facing the fireplace. Then add two chairs in front of the window. It might look a little something like one of these recent designs of ours.

Ouch! This looks more like the dining room. As mentioned, we need a floor plan posted with room measurements and measurements of the walls and fireplace in this room. Sure hope you have another room you can use as a living room because this is so very small.
