Is this the bedding you will keep ? he room looks very new and undecided as to style so maybe share a bit of the style you are going for . The bed is very modern the bedding a bit girly and sloppy for the bed style The chair in no way works . So I need info please as to the overall plan . Feature walls can be awesome in a bedroom but they need to work with all the other elements in the space . If you wanyt wallpaper then the bedding needs to simpler to not fight with the wallpaper . A color on the wallneeds to come from the bedding IMO. On my monitor the base of the bed looks to be white and the headboard cream is that right ?My suggestion get the rug and then see what you need . I do not like big rugs mostly hidden by the bed so tend to do nice smaller ones on either side of the bed but I need some clue as to the plan. BTW fake drapery panels are IMO awful either do drapes or don't you have lots of space for real drapes .

lots of options, look like you have some great natural light, so real saturation could be great. Be creative!

If you go dark, suggest lighter/layered bedding and a light rug. Wouldn’t add patterned wallpaper and perhaps search on line for a similar bed with molding on wall to see if you like the look (there will be different designs as well).

Perhaps wait until drapes, a rug and more layered bedding are added and decide if you still want to paint/add a treatment.

Pretty room! I love the blue walls shown above. I think your bedding will look very nice with that. And the chairs are a nice contrast to the more contemporary furniture. A rug would look great, but your floors are lovely bare, too.

I think that once you accessorize the room giving it layers and texture (area rug, accent pillows, throw, roman shade & curtains), warm white walls would work well and there's no need for an accent wall of any kind.

Why is the bed not centered on the wall?

Not loving the dark navy with the floors. It's okay, but, meh.

I probably should have given you some more info. I was at an angle when I took the pictures in order to get the whole wall in the picture, but yes the bed is centered on that wall. The bed fame is new and the headboard and footboard are the same ivory color. The exposure in the room is northwest so it does funny things with colors. I couldn’t stand the pure white comforter with the ivory of the bed, lamps and chairs so the navy is temporary. That said, I like blues and navy so I would like to use it in the permanent bedding.
Style wise, I like clean lines and modern. I know the chairs are not that style but they are an heirloom and bring me joyful memories so I would like to use them.
The floor is white oak with blue-grey knots in it.
Re curtains- I thought they would help warm and soften the room because of the cold exposure and strong lines of the bed. I like the look of when curtains are similar to the wall color.
It sounds like I should start with the rug and bedding first. My husband will be happy to have a break from construction and painting projects!

Good morning! Jan, I see your point now about the white pop with the ivory in the bedding- I will try to get the right balance. The two looks I love are your pictures that both have what looks like a textured wallpaper on all the wallls. Is that what it is? The last picture is pretty too but the others are richer looking. In the past I have had light colored walls in the bedroom thinking it was calmer but the result was boring- my fault for not getting the layers right. I know you are right about the rug. I like the small pattern of the rug in the picture with the light walls. I wouldn’t have thought of looking for something like that. Was there a rug in the bedroom with the blue textured walls? Also, is there a rule of thumb as to how far the rug protrudes on the sides of the bed?

Yes, there ARE limitless options, which is why it takes us all so long to make decisions. But you have several beautiful photos to pick from for your room. The textured wallpaper (whether neutral or a color) will definitely increase the elegance factor.

They say “three times is the charm” well it’s been two months and this was the third rug I tried. This one is staying! So now reaching out again for bedding suggestions as well as drapes. Re the drapes- should I frame each window separately (4 panels) or just treat it as one window from both sides?

It will be impossible for us to pick the perfect blue accent, as every monitor will differ.

Make an ivory BASE. Layer the bed. Treat the blue as an ACCENT in the bedding..

ACCENT THE BASE, PULL IN THE BLUES.....accent only!!! A single king sham, fold a blue quilt at the foot of the bed.

Those little chairs are not really adding a thing to your bedroom space, Take one at least, out. where at least the "special" aspect of it, will be more special. tuck the remaining near the window and curtains. They read like an attempt to fill space, but are two light and small to be effective.

A bench at the foot of the bed could be nice. : ) and I'd do it in a leather, for a change in texture.

I believe I have those light filtering ivory curtains in my guest room - will bring them in a check the color. The flax looks pretty too.

I get what you mean about picking the blue accent. I do like the plushness of the displays and the ivory base. Is it possible to add a less traditional sham in a bold blue and gold without disrupting the vibe. Or a bright midcentury blanket for the foot of the bed? Now that I see how the gold in the rug accents the walnut does that make sense?
