You have too few pictures, and WHAT is the flooring??

Flooring is not picked yet, but it will be a neutral oak vinyl. Everything it torn up right now so I don’t have much choice but to go based off of samples / cupboards unfortunately!

No backsplash is an option. Do the kitchen, paint the walls, live with it, take your time deciding on which backsplash or none.

This is not a decision you need right now. You don't even have the floor. : ) We can't even see the counter top.

We are in a time crunch so it’s unfortunately a decision we have to make sooner than later! Flooring is picked but not in yet, and the countertops are in the pictures attached :)!! Just looking for advice on matching a backsplash with a busy countertop

We can only advise that a backsplash can be done ANY time, and follows counter install, and can not precede that top.. It's quite busy...so I would wait.

It will not affect the use of the kitchen.

in general: I think super simple backsplashes pulled from a light color within the busy counter, no contrasting grout often can work - make sure to get tile samples in hand

If the countertops, cabinets and flooring work together, you have two choices. One, use the same material on the backsplash as you have on the counter top. Two, use the plainest white tile you can find. It can be in any shape you want--square, rectangular, picket, arabesque, fishtail, etc. Anything else could be a mismatch, and if you need to choose something right away, you probably won't go wrong with either of my recommendations.

Why do you have to choose the backsplash right away? Some on this forum have taken months, and a few have taken more than a year to find the perfect backsplash. If you choose something quickly you may regret it later.

Because we are moving for work and putting our house for sale.

If house is for sale then just paint the backsplash area. It's almost a given new owners will rip out everything you have updated.

Why the BUSY of the counter that nobody will want? No, not kidding. Please don't add to the next person's woes. Smooth and paint the backsplash.

Paint, and spend the rest of your time paring down your clutter in preparation for moving.

I think the tile you picked will be just fine since this is a quick flip to sell so you can move.

But, I would still post some photos.

It will help to see if maybe the items you chose could be improved.

Maybe there is a cheaper alternative, what is your movitvation? To get more money? A flip will look like a flip? Is the motivation to make the space look nicer? Maybe go without a backsplash and just paint the area. Then the new owners can put their own spin and you have saved yourself some money.

Trust me, if a house is priced to sell in 60 days no one will look at the backsplash or new paint or floors. They will look at the location.

I like the tile you selected but also could support just painting the wall so the next person can put their stamp on it. Also would tell you to reconsider that counter choice if it’s for resale.

You are chasing a downward turning overheated market, and doing nothing but losing money here. A poor paint job for the cabinets, and a busy counter, with an uncoordinated backsplash "for resale" is about the worst possible thing to have done here. For resale loses money, almost every time. It would have been better to do nothing but clean and declutter.

But since you are here, nix that counter. What does the EXISTING counter look like? The existing wall paint? The existing floor? What can be salvaged from this mistake?

Thanks for your input! Unfortunately we were renovating for ourselves but due to work changes we are now finishing the Reno’s to move.

Wellllll life happens? Just cut your losses, don't spend another nickel to tile. Clean it up, have a short matched counter riser splash! and move on. It's the KIND thing for the next owner.

For what you are doing I actually don't mind that top. Just do a 4" splash with it and no tile splash. It will be fine. Most people will do their own updates and changing a top and splash is not that hard to do.

Your safest and easiest choice is to match the "white" tile to the white of the cabinet.

Take a cabinet door, or drawer front, with you to the tile store.
