If you plan to purchase a rug online, always order the smallest size so you can check for color first. It's too hard lugging the large rugs around if they don't work out.

A rug with a lighter background makes the space completely different.

Not sure why the 8x10 isn't working for this layout. Do you have vast amounts of vacant space around this seating arrangement?

Thanks so much Beverly. That is so smart to buy the smallest rug size first. I will definitely do that going forward. Unfortunately with an 8 x 10 size, there isn’t enough room for the chairs at the end to look right. I do really like that first rug. Do you know where that is from?

I was finding that there are rugs out there that sometimes show up in 8x11 or 9 x 11. I'm not sure why this size is not working for your space. See plan below.

Thanks Beverly. I just re-measured our current rug and you are correct. It is a little smaller than 8 x 10. It measure 7.6 x 9.6.

Maybe try looking around for some rug options with some blue in it if you are going to change the chairs to a blue as well?
