There’s no set rule. Some people like their pulls to span the length of the drawers and cabs…a look I don’t care for. Others follow a 1/3 rule.

This is what we did:

I roughly follow the 1/3 "rule" and prefer to have a pull end up a bit longer, than end up with something a bit too short. In the kitchen I prefer knobs for doors and pulls for drawers.

Anyone use knobs for drawers?

With modern slides, drawers open so easily, a knob would do the (functional) job.

John Liu, sure you can use knobs on drawers if you want. I think you get a bit more wear/dirt on cabinet surfaces when using a knob vs using a pull. For that reason I wouldn't use knobs on a drawer, unless the knob had a larger projection than standard knobs.

Had knobs on uppers AND lowers in previous home. Went with all pulls in this home, when we gutted and renoed the kitchen. Pulls stand further away from the doors and drawers…less grime on cabs as a result. Also, for aging hands, pulls are more ergonomic.
