Round or rectangle dining table

I need a dining table and it's for 2 most of the time, but would like it to open to accommodate 6. Room is 9 x 12. 12 foot is from counter to sliding doors, as shown on drawing. So do I go 48 round that will open or a rectangle? Also want 4 counter stools to coordinate. I was thinking birch top, white legs on table and black chairs w upholstery. Drapes r staying. Also need rug. I want to eventually coordinate w living area adjacent to the cream Bennett sofas. That room will need help also. I'd appreciate any suggestions to get me started.

I would do a round table that expands to an oval.

The drapes on the slider should be the same as those on the windows and hung at the same height. The slider should have been ordered in a taller size.

Round table that expands. You already have a lot of rectangular shapes in this room and another one will have your kitchen looking like a game of tetris. I don't love the idea of black chairs. Get the table first and get chairs to match the wood of the table.

Three tones is too many for the table (birch top, white legs and black chairs) especially since you've got print curtains and a visually busy floor in the same space. Go with a natural wood table in a round, expandable table as chispa and Kendrah advise.

Thank you i went with a round, also chispa your correct with the sliding door drapes. , the other drapes on window were left here since it was a model home, but we had “Blinds to go” come in and that’s what they did, I absolutely hate them. It just does not look correct. I located the same fabric but they wont sell to me since i am not in the trade. So what do you think about a cellular shade verticals on that door? Please let me know since we already wasted money on the curtain that was made.
