And I agree it could have been a deer. It looks just like my geraniums, hydrangeas, hardy fuchsias, anything else the deer can reach. Although they do resemble rabbits - when standing on their hind legs, front legs dangling, as they reach high for the apples on my neighbors tree 😊

Indianagirl, it sounds like you’re very familiar with rabbits. Luckily, no rabbits here yet. We do have the big, lanky jackrabbits but at higher elevations. If they come down this far, I’m in trouble!

Thanks floral and Jay! That’s what it looks like. Reading up on Mulberries in Utah, there are a lot around. I’m glad I asked and caught it early because I can’t have a tree growing there.

Morz8, I’ve been getting more deer pressure, too. They like most of my flower buds and young shrubs. Somehow the mother deer know my street is safe for them and the little ones.
