What a nice project! Consider working on the walkway strip next to the porch floor, it could be wider and more finished. Reset the new posts so the left one is centered with the door and window and the right post is centered with the window and garage, and stain to match garage doors. When budget allows consider landscaping the whole area shown in front of the porch. Good luck!

White they tie into the house, stained they look unfinished and random. If I wanted to define the porch more I would get a mason to raise the whole slab to the step level. The porch will feel larger and the slight lift above the landscape will be nice.

Could you stand back farther to give a more complete look at the entire house and garages? What I'm seeing is a driveway in need of coating since it takes up so much visual space. Once you do that, then tackle the porch, pillars, garage doors. Consider a much lighter and brighter front door and garage door. Notice how the landscaping really enhances the house in the way Hallett suggests:

Garage doors look new and really nice! I'd like to see all of your white trim painted the same color as the body of the house. Look how nice your door looks next to the garage without white trim around it. Do that, then beef up the posts and stain / paint them to match the garage doors. Your house will look bigger, less choppy, and the colors more coordinated.
