Reach in closet

I have a condo with a small primary bedroom (10x11). I'm thinking of taking doors off the closet, removing the door frame, and putting a closet system in like the example picture. Is that a good or bad idea? I have another closet in the same room that I will leave the bifold doors on.

Why can't you use the closet system with the doors?

I dont see any advantage to installing a closet system in there. And you still need doors.

If you dont like the bifold doors maybe replace them with double doors on hinges.

I wanted to widen the opening to access the currently blind sides. I wanted a system with drawers rather than a separate dresser.

Widen the opening, install a closet system of some kind to suit your storage needs, then install doors similar to what you have. Or, install a system with doors in front of the hanging and anywhere else where you want to keep clothes relatively dust-free and out of sight. No matter how nicely staged, closets don’t stay that way and honestly, just look chaotic.
