I think a glass large format subway tile in a color from the counter could work I do not like any of the ones you have there now I think the translucence of the quatzite needs that same kind of look and ceramic does not have it . I like glass tile with matching grout with quartzite .Your cabinets look gray in both pics maybe check your lighting too. I like all LED 4000K in kitchens it mimics daylight and since kitchens have so many different materials it works to keep all colors true .

I would stay away from white with white cabinets because if you choose the wrong white, it may appear to look dirty next to the other one. Perhaps another color pulled from the countertop or floor.

The basic rules for the ”background” backsplash are to match the cabinet color or a color in the stone. The more advanced course involves shapes beyond subway or square and/or colors that compliment without necessarily matching. First figure out if you want the backsplash to be a star or a background player. Let us know when you know.

IMO you'll want to match the background color of the Taj or use the Taj as the backsplash.

Can you just use the Taj Mahal as the backsplash? That might be the easiest solution so that a white, or cream, doesn't clash with the cabinets.

You need to turn on all your lights and take better pictures- it looks green and gray.
