Try hanging the piece vertically. Takes up less space. The 'logs' would give the impression of a grove of tree trunks.

Use it to soften an empty corner. Or place it behind a tall indoor plant to frame it visually. Since it's metal, it would look great as yard or porch sculpture.

Were you thinking of transforming it?

I think it maybe is time for it to have anew home and I like the idea of outside to enjoy and hung vertically would be a good idea there too.

You could spray paint it any color you want or do some type of faux painting on it. If you don't like the color anyway, then you won't lose anything by experimenting with some paint. Turn it and do a faux bamboo look.

Perhaps a patina finish would achieve the look you are after, but get advice on the process and expected results. Placed outside is a good idea as well and consider that no matter what you do you’ll be taking a chance on its outcome.

Can you take a picture from further back so we can get a better idea of scale and your style? Is the art sentimental to you? Or you just want to keep it because you've had it so long? I love Lauren Liess's style too and just flipped through one of her books for inspiration for you. She has lots of spaces with high contrast. One tip is to be sure and incorporate the colors in your art into other areas of the room.

All these spaces have large, dark art.

If you are tired of it in the house, but, still like it, I think outside on a patio wall would be a perfect place for it.

If it's no longer your style, sell it and buy something else.

I like the idea of turning it vertical and using it for the back drop of something else.

It's a cool piece. Could be interesting as a headboard or a nice decoration for a covered patio area.

We do need to know the size please since as a headboard is a big deal. I do think vertical is more interesting .

I would either find a place outside for it or sell or donate it. Agree, vertical is better, it’s really large so that may be an issue re placement.
