First, what do you dislike about your current furniture arrangement? Not enough space for people to sit (are those two love seats instead of sofas - hard to tell in photo)? You have a nice looking room - it seems like you could make it look cozier with just a few tweaks. However, if the actual furniture isn't working for you (are those accent chairs comfortable for people to actually use?)

It seems like your room could use some color + more texture. Right now, it is very neutral with the gray and light beige sofas/loveseats. The rug is also a missed opportunity to add some color. Your fireplace has a "colder" look to it due to the type of tile used. Adding layers/texture/color will help change the feel.

I would not purchase something U or L shaped. That type of furniture is very limiting re: ways to arrange it. It is very unusual for any designer (or other knowledgeable Houzz users) to suggest any type of sectional or chaise for a living room.

If you want to receive the best help/advice, you should add a scaled drawing of your room that includes actual measurements in inches (for windows and doorways also + fireplace). If you add a drawing, people will be able to prepare actual furniture layouts for your room. If you don't have any graph paper, you can print some off the web (there are many sites that have printable graph paper) - or you can use a ruler and have a 1/2' = 1' or whatever scale works for the piece of paper based upon the size of your room.

Well cozy does not come to mind from those pics but you do not come back with any other info there is no way you get help. Why ask a question and then disappear ???? BTW I hate sectionals in almost every room
