When you say “painting next year” do you mean the whole house? If so, what color are you going to want the exterior?

Your gutter man is correct, the colors on the gutters they install are baked on, and not just painted. I know this forum is great on painting gutters to match the house, but, personally, I would never paint my gutters. They are now maintence free with the finish they were installed with many many years ago. The most they ever need is to power wash lightly once a yr, and they are done.

Unless this is a gutter emergency, I'd wait until the painting is done. Remove the old gutters, paint, install new gutters.

Gutter and fascia color should match. Downspouts should match the siding.
