Need small track lights for shelves cabinet art

last year

Need track lighting that aren’t too bright (& want dimmable)or fixtures not too large at front hall entrance so I can redirect to accentuate books/art …
ceiling 7’ so can’t be too low. I’d like 2-3 sm lights or too large in such small hall. Will post foto. Any help appreciated. Want to light hall and also dim when I want focus on art, cabinets… thank you for any ideas. Another hall crosses it at the front which is sm hall w pantry in front of kitchen. I left bifold door at entrance for water htr and a/c in entrance hall but removed other bifolds which were a closet in order to have more space and less enclosed entrance. I’ll have to get light for pantry later but waiting to see what’s compatible. Current lights are plain standard 1/2 bowl look. Thank you.

I left off that as it’s a narrow hall I can’t use the same type of bulky fixture or as long a track as I used over this wall unit.

The wall unit above is in a open and wide living room. The entrance hall is narrow. It would need something less intrusive, just light which can be dimmed and directed as spot light. I like track concept just more smaller “canisters.”.

Why not some little puck lights under each shelp honestly I see nothing really worth display right now and this is an entry not the ideal place for that type of thing . Why not remove the shelves and hang some of the art from the LR there where it can be hung at the proper height and honestly just a better choice .

Thanks for your suggestions, Patricia. My foto doesn’t show entire hall so I understand why you think that it’s not for displaying. It was very “claustrophobic” & narrow w 4 bifolds (a closet, & a/c water heater) so to widen entrance, get more storage, and give hall more decorative appeal, I removed the closet bifolds and had cabinetry/shelves built in. I have many books and pottery collection to display and give life to the area, and a lot of paintings for the 2 opposite walls. The reason there’s nothing to display is because I’ve just moved in and built it. I’ll try and post a before foto so you see why. A hall w bifolds was bland.

Entry: Before/after. Still designing walks, paintings, books..Nicer entryway for displaying vs doors.

The idea is to unpack books, pottery to fill this built in & continue to hang artwork on surrounding walls.

I think I should rephrase my question. I’m looking for a type of Ceiling track light that isn’t too large & can have “spot” light or sm lite fixtures I can redirect. Its not for the shelves which could be backlit w strips if needed. The light is to replace an entry way hall light that while it’s called a “foyer” is only a hall. I will have artwork on walls surrounding and entire bookshelf will be filled w books & couple pottery pieces. I could possibly try a runner if it’s not too busy when all books and art are up. Example of long black/white hall w paintings I found has a single light could be dimmable & work as alternative to track. I want to accent artwork going up/along wall space & have choice to both light or dim entryway . Thanks in advance for type of ceiling light to accent only. I will probably visit large lighting stores where you can actually see lit fixtures.

There seems me way to edit text or fotos after post. So just a correction on my last post!
