Coffee table suggestions

last year

Im trying fo find a coffee table to go with my living room colors and floors. I have a Black irregular shape now that is very artsy, but it is too big for the room. Its to big and I think Black just kills the room so im going to post some ideas of others I have looked at and the one I have now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If that is a reclining sofa..best to not use a coffee table..looks like it is a very small space so just use good size side tables.

It is a reclining sofa, but I never use it, and I have 2 nice side tables with drawers. Thats why I was thinking the metal ones, because they are 24X24X16, I had a rectangle one before that that had 2 side lift on the side. I use to eat sitting on the couch and using the side lifts of the table.. Thats really the only time I use this couch

Can't comment on your coffee table issue, but is the painting above the couch an Elba Alvarez. We have an original by her. Our home style is traditional, but I really love our painting paired with it.

I agree no coffee table with reclining furniture which BTW is way too big for that space and the chair sitting there makes no sense , Take a pic showing thew hole room if you want help . Post here in a comment DO NOT start another post.

a glass top wouldn't look so large... with all your bulky furniture.

Everything is too dense: the sofa, the recliner and your coffee table choices. The proportions are taking over the room.

If it were me, I'd lose the recliner and get a different, smaller lounge chair that swivels. Something like this barrel chair that's small but still comfortable:

Then get a coffee table that has a glass top and metal legs:

I agree about the couch but i am stuck with it I tried to sell it and its like brand new and people just want to lowball me big time. I never use it. As for a glass coffee table they are a nightmare to keep clean. Its not that little of a space and im sorry but I love my recliner it so comfortable and its a lazy boy. I thought about just getting rid of the couch and just keeping the recliner. Ill take a pic of the room from a differnt angle so you can see it and thank so much for the help from all of you. My kitchen is very modern and the whole place is open. The black table will be gone tomorrow by the bar stools/

Im thinking about a love seat after I get rid of the couch

Stick with what you have if you are eventually going to replace the sofa.

I think the floor is a big part of the problem. To me, it’s too busy and detracts from everything in the room. I’d encourage you to look for a rug that minimizes the busy floor.

You guys inspired me I moved everything around check it out now

Everybody likes my floor I get loads of compliments on it I had a rug I didnt like it took away from the openness of the room. If I did get a rug what would you suggest. Im looking at love seats now I just have to get rid of the couch. I put it on marketplace I dont where else I could sell it

I would wait until decision is made about keeping the sofa before looking at rug options. A patterned solid color rug may be the way to go.

The sofa is going even if I have to give it to good will its gone. I always thought it was to big. I have picked out a rug I really like, but I have a feeling you will probably say its too busy, with my art work. Im also thinking of taking that down and replacing it with a cool looking mirror.

Im trying to pick up the color from my recliner and art work in the room which is like a copper gold. I dont know what you mean by a patterned solid color rug. An explanation or a sample would be helpful

I was gong to buy a love seat with a console, which is what I originally wanted but those are just as long as my sofa.

This is a better pic of my living room as it is now, as you can see I need something, like a small coffee table or rug

Well big news couch is gone I will post a pic of the awesome looking midnight blue loveseat and if I do go with that rug the art will probably go, and Im thinking a modern looking mirror. I feel like the rug I picked out picks up all the colors in the room. I really like that darker rug and the black coffee table the glass top will always be a pain as far as showing dust and cleaning, Where is the dark carpet from and also the black coffee table. As you can see I need a rug of some sort.

  • last year

Both rugs are from rugsdirect.com. For the dark one, search for "Calix"; this rug is "Ziazan". I'm not sure I would choose the dark rug with the darker loveseat, though. You can upload your photo on the rugsdirect website and see their rugs in your room to get a sense of what works and what doesn't.
