I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but I've put a copper vessel sink on top of a pretty little chest in a powder room, and I didn't put a "countertop" (granite, composite, etc.) on top. I simply gave the top of the chest a good varnish to protect it from the occasional splash of water.

I do not believe I would have done this in an actual bathroom where people are brushing teeth, etc., however.

That is not a vessel sink so what are you asking ?

Since you say you want to use Barker Cabinets... try contacting the company or a showroom with that brand and ask them if their cabinets can be custom built for a square countertop vessel, or perhaps as a slide under for a wall mounted. They offer an apron sink cabinet option in their bathroom line, so it might be of benefit to ask them.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting The drain comes from the floor, so I can't use a floating cabinet. I'm also looking for something very small, as the bathroom is tiny. Additionally, I'm already using Barker cabinets for the rest of the project, and would prefer to use their base cabinets over Ikea. I can customize Barker, and Ikea only comes in one color for the option that would work.

The goal is a small vanity, something like 18 x 16, with just a sink for the top, no countertop, using a Barker cabinet base.

Can you show us a photo or a link to the Barker cabinet you like? Will be much easier to answer your question.

You effectively want an integrated sink and it's highly unlikely you'll find one that is the exact dimension of your cabinet. Why not just buy one of the sink cabinet combos you are showing us?

Either that, or you'll have to go to a slab fabricator to make a sink out of quartz/stone to fit on top.

Maybe? While the dimensions may be flexible, you'd have to make sure it would fit snugly to the cabinet. I think to achieve the look you're after, this will be a custom cabinet job.

And if you need storage, you could put a wall cabinet over the toilet.

To do this, you need the console sink first. It has to be fully square and flat. Most budget ones are not. Then the cabinet maker needs custody of it, to make the cabinet to match. You need to 1/64th accuracy. Dial caliper type accuracy. Not the 1/4" that Barker offers. There is a huge world of wrong in being only 1/4" increments.

I don't think you can take two ready-made pieces and get them to fit exactly. You could buy the sink and have the cabinet built to conform to the size of the sink.

Get a very small sink, and under mount it, use a plain white quartz remnant for a top.

Trully this is a simple thing you are making very complicated and IMO expensive too.

Did you fail to notice the every whichaway overhanging over the base, with the unfinished bottom showing, on that? If that doesn't bother you, then a cheap thin cultured marble vanity top with integrated sink will "work" fine. As long as you hold your nose about them looking "kinda cheap" which is your objection to the ones that actually do fit each other.

EASIER to under mount beneath a white solid surface top.

At 12" x 14" below, you'll have no issue with the small vanity cabinet you want. There's no advantage to your concept, that I can see.
