Name That Plant!

I've always called this a "Jade" plant, but ...?

I've had many pots of this stuff for decades, and I always just called it "Jade". But I suspect it's something a little more involved. Ideas? It's a succulent that reroots with abandon.

Kalanchoe blossfeldiana in nurseries and shops have been carefully raised to be compact and covered in flowers at the time of sale. That's what you'll see in illustrations. When grown on at home, without the regulated light conditions of the professionals, they get leggy and flowering is much sparser. Just like yours.

As well as being much thicker, Jade leaves are not serrated. Their flowers are white not red.

Looks like a Kalanchoe to me. Does it flower? Jade plants tend to have thick leaves.

Yes, I think there are sprouts of tiny red flowers. If one were flowering now, i would have posted that.

“Jade plant” is universally understood to be Crassula ovata.

That blog doesn't give a botanical name for 'Jade Plant' so I'd not set much store by it. Iochroma and the RHS, on the other hand, I would.. https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/4739/crassula-ovata/details

It's Florist kalanchoe, also known as Flaming katy, Christmas Kalanchoe or Madagascar widow's-thrill

It's botanical name is Kalanchoe blossfeldiana

Yes, getting back on topic, jade plants do have thicker leaves. I guess I could accept kalanchoe, on the basis of the leaves, but all the images I see of that plant have an abundance of flowers. My plants shoot up a single stalk with small red flowers every once in a while. How do you get these to flower profusely? These leaves have smooth edges. I understand that one can have smooth-edged or lobed leaves depending on the cultivar.
