We have dricore in our walkout basement with Allure LVP on top it has with stood a couple of water issues with no bad thing happening We have 3 huge dogs that have free run to a dog run all day so LVP has stood up really well. The reason we did that floor was when we had the water issue we could roll up the LVP and chack under it to make sure there was no issue , pretty cool IMO. Not sure if the Allure now is made the same ours is 18 yrs old , really at the start of LVP flooring . I think now we would do the glue down LVP not laminate in the basement. We do have all laminate from Germany on our main floor also 18 yrs old and still awesome with those 3 huge dogs just not the same dogs. Not one scatch even.

Their site says 100 hours waterproof guarantee. Other specifications on any of their products are non-existent. Plenty of market speak. I would avoid this manufacturer.

Both lvp and laminate use a picture of wood. Laminate has a hard finish. Lvp has a layer of clear vinyl and then a hard finish. The clear layer can make it look more like finished hardwood. Flooret Modine is a good dtc source for lvp with 40mil clear vinyl as the wear layer and a strong joint system.

I'd get another flooring guy.

It's not waterproof; it's water resistant for up to 100 hours, as noted by dan1888.

We were going to spec Roble Wexford Tostado, wear rating AC6, for our basement in a former Wetlands adjacent to Toronto.

But after the last 100-year rainfall left dampness in the concrete right up and around the poly and 3" of XPS insulation, we decided to go with stone or tile instead. But in our other home, just 500 meters away, glued down laminate is doing fine.
