Interior Door Ideas - Mid-Century Modern Home

I am having a difficult time choosing new doors for our home. We want to 'honor' the style of the home, so we're keeping the hardwood flooring (will be lighter after they are refinished), wood walls, baseboards and trim. The yellowish walls will be a soft white (Olympic Mountain - Benjamin Moore). Should the new doors just be painted to match the trim or go with white?? My thought is that if we go white, the contrast might be too much. The house does lean mid-century modern.... Thank You!

I agree those doors you show do not really work in that very cool interior .Is that the only weird door or are there many ? I think your decor is not MCM so maybe that is throwing us off. I think a nice slab door in wood to match the rest of the wood would be my choice and I do not love all the wood but somehow I do like the house as it is minus the peaked door Something like this if your decor is more MCM Maybe give us a clue as to your actual decor style not the guys that left .I went to your ida books and for sure you lean more MCM

I would not paint the trim or the doors white. It looks like you have some beautiful trim detail that will be lost if painted white. Can you post more pictures of the area?

The trim and doors look very nice right now. I would not be painting either of them. I really dont like the wall color though, so am glad you are saying that is going to be repainted. The door you are showing does not go with the house. The ones you have fit nicely, and I wouldnt change them. Love the shape of the old ones too.

Why do you want new doors? If they are all shaped like the one shown, they will be custom. The wood in the photos looks quite nice.

Pull a paneling pillar up the other side of the door, floor to ceiling, same width as the adjacent next room entryway molding. This creates an front entrance to your home.

Mid-century has Gothic roots, so some dark wood is required — leave that for the flooring — arch whether triangle or rounded balances all the rectangular woodwork, that’s why it’s an angle, but go for transparent, let light in, and if feeling brave, take the door area ALL THE WAY UP TO THE CEILING — and — big breath —

Sorry not at all understand the gothic roots .But those doors are not MCM but not sure what they are so Ineed to see more of the interior to even begin to advise doors. I have a 1956 MCM ranch no doors like that but there were slab solid core doors in all the rooms off the hall so I chose pixelated glass doors to allow light in definately not a choice in what I see in your house .I do not like the tones of that wall color with the wood but I need more context please . Pics of maybe the LR that would give us a much better idea to give help.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I've added a few more pictures from when the house was on the market.

We are keeping the ceilings as-is, but we're having the hardwood sanded/re-stained in a lighter color, painting the walls Olympic Mountain (benjamin moore), drywalling the fireplace wall and replacing the bricks with a neutral-ish stone around the actual fireplace. Also replacing the banister, windows/sliders (black), lighting.
