Need advice on hanging art but keeping it cohesive

My boyfriend and I just got a new art piece (the black and gold one that you can see sitting against the floor.) He wants to hang it on that wall, but I find the amount of vertical wall art odd. I would greatly appreciate a second opinion! Thanks

IMO a perfect shape and size for that wall. I think art you love always works even really different pieces somehow when loved seem right .

No one else can tell you what art to hang in your home! That is a personal choice.

The size and shape of the new piece looks fine for that wall.

Maybe what you aren't loving is the very different subjects/colors of the two art pieces that close together? It wouldn't be my first choice to place them that close. Again, this a personal choice, so no one can tell you if it is right or wrong!

The new art would be completely upstaged by the storm trooper. Try a different room for the new art. If you can find an additional piece by the same storm trooper artist, that could work well.

It's a shiny counterpart to the shiny mirror opposite and it doesn't distract from the Storm Trooper art. If that was your goal it's perfect
