Our goal was to keep costs low while creating a beautiful, modern kitchen.

It all started here:

Before remodel

We handled flooring removal with hired help, installed new flooring ourselves, and did all trim work. I desgined the peninsula face panels, added the opposite facing door to the living room, and built the base cabinets from scratch, adding a custom spice rack for my wife. For the upper cabinets, we stripped the old paint, repaired and refinished the surfaces, then painted them. I also crafted new cabinet doors using hardwood and MDF.

The backsplash and countertops are Aspen Quartz Bianco Carrara from Olympia. I did all the woodworking and spray painting, achieving a smooth, flawless finish—better than Home Depot’s RTA cabinets, with no orange peel.

For paint, we chose Sherwin Williams' "Pure White" from the Gallery Series.

I couldn’t have done this without my amazing wife—she’s not only the love of my life but a true powerhouse, both emotionally and physically!

Many cabinet makers cut corners for profit, often leaving mistakes specially builder's default cabinets:

The cabinets height were too short, and the bottom drawer front does not match the other doors' width. I reused the original fronts, so I didn’t notice at first. I’ll fix it next year when it’s warmer!
