Design Dilemma Kitchens

Molding to cover seam?

I’m bringing my cabinets to the ceiling and need a trim piece to cover the seam. I got half rounds and they are fine… but it looks a little off, like just not the right piece because the top molding isn’t round. I have attached a picture of my own cabinets with the half round taped up. There is a second picture I found in a Reddit thread but I can’t tell what kind of trim it is. Open to other ideas.

I think the half round looks fine, there are other molding shapes too.

Bigger question is, how will you handle the gap between upper trim and ceiling?

Thank you. Thinking caulk 🤷🏼‍♀️. I saw something on YouTube where she stuffed the crack to create some backing so the caulk had something to stop against so the emptiness wouldn’t be filled with caulk.

You can get some foam weatherstripping and fill the gap, then caulk it.
