Can you help with a creative solution to refresh decorative pillows?

After 7 years it's time to refresh the decorative pillow mojo in my family room. Currently I have charcoal 22"x22'" flange pillows accented with sage 13"x22" lumbar flange pillows. Both are a velvet fabric which I love. Is it time to use a knife edge 20"x20" with a lumbar 13"x22" knife edge or smaller?

Should I retain the charcoal color but change out the sage with possibly cranberry or another color highlighted in the painting? Or use 2 large lumbar pillows, one on each side? If so, what color? Or do something entirely different?

A small dilemma I know, but important to me. Thank you for reviewing my question and offering a suggestion.

There are endless choices and it really comes down to personal preference. I find testing color combos, shapes and sizes is extremely helpful and suggest that route. With your lovely, modern room, I’d keep to a minumim using lovely fabrics and color wise, look to pull in the shades from your art.

Your room is lovely. I do like those charcoal pillows a lot. Maybe look for a print to recover the sage rectangles with some of the warm colors from the painting as well as dark gray or black. Or change the shape to cylinder or sphere.

These are lovely textural options, thank you. If keeping the charcoal 22'x22" pillows would you go with a 20"x20" textual pillow or stay with the lumbar, 13"x 22" to layer? Is the 22"x22" too big for this sofa? Thank you.
