What backsplash to match our countertops?

We decided on green emerald quartzite countertops. And we’re having a difficult time choosing a suitable back splash to match the green emerald. Although we know individual tiles would look very nice, we don’t want to deal with cleaning grout in a high traffic area so we decided on choosing a slab made out of porcelain or sintered stone. Narrowed down to these four slabs. Just would like peoples opinions.

The slab will go directly on the wall that you see in our kitchen photo below. We have white ceilings and walnut cabinents.

No backsplash with veining will compliment the gorgeous, veiny green quartzite. You need something plain, a solid color that won’t conflict. That counter is the star.

Please, nothing that’s imitating white marble.

I agree with @darbuka. the counter is beautiful and looks like it will compliment your cabinets very nicely. a solid slab is best for the backsplash but the one you picture looks too cool to go with your warm counter and cabinets. it might be photo's but i would definitely check the materials side by side in real life first.

One more vote for no veins in the backsplash, and wowza to your counters! Those counters will look so gorgeous with your beautiful cabinets! FWIW I wouldn't be too afraid of cleaning grout. I just wipe my backsplash with a damp cloth and it cleans up nicely (even tomato sauce.)

Having said that, I do understand your concern, especially behind your cooktop. Could you run a piece of your counter stone up the wall behind your range? (Caveat: the thickness of the slab may affect how far you can push in your range, so that needs to be taken into account.)

You could also consider large format tiles, which would give you less grout to clean. (Just be sure you have a good tile pro who can help you avoid lippage.) Or a stainless steel panel or back-painted tempered glass behind your range. Your cabinets and counters are beautiful, so IMO you are right to take your time and find a quiet backsplash that will let those be the stars.

That quartize is STUNNING! She is the star of the show -- choose only a plain backsplash so the eye focuses on her. I would not do the quartzite up the wall -- too much of a good thing is still too much. Uninspired as it may seem, a simple subway in a light color found in the stone is what is called for here. Doesn't have to be white - I see some soft, light cream in the stone. Get some samples and see what works best. Consider a matte tile for subtle contrast. You can also just leave the area painted until you find "the one" and run a stainless sheet behind the cooktop up to hood height if you want something there in the meantime.

@chicagoans Thank you for the wonderful input. I will consider larger format tiles if i am unable to find the right shade for the backspalsh. A lot of the backsplashes options available at our fabricator are very cool toned.

Our cabinets are Medium density fibreboard (MDF) with a walnut veneer! ☺️

Back painted tempered glass in a color from the gorgeous slab
