Choose wide spread or single hole faucet

last year

Bathroom vanity will be 60" with a 20 7/8" sink. Tower and wall on either side of vanity. Would you choose a wide spread or a single hole faucet? Thank you.

I always go for a single hole for ease of cleaning and adjusting temp with one hand. However, I'll admit I never even thought about proportions!

Single hole faucet for easier cleaning. I'm not getting the 'proportion' thing. Think of all the millions of much wider single bowl kitchen sinks out there with single hole faucets.

Regarding the vanity’s length/configuration, visually either style won’t have an effect overall.

Consider the look you are after visually, but also your usage preference.

I agree I have never thought about proportion but I also like single hole for use and 20" is not unusal for the sink I like a single handle too for temp adjustment . As for what you should do we need pics and I hate towers sitting on the counter always so we need pics .

Consider how much you enjoy cleaning around faucets. It takes three times as long to clean a three-hold faucet as a one-hole faucet. Then make your decision.

I like things that're easy to clean. As such:

BEST: Wall-mounted faucets, which require no holes in the countertop /you can just wipe your cleaning rag underneath. You must choose a model meant for this type of mounting, as the water spout must be "longer" to reach the sink, but they can work with any large or small vanity.

SECOND BEST: Single-stem faucet, which means only one item to clean around, though they lean a bit modern, and that's not my taste. If your vanity is shallow, you can place this to the side of an oval sink to save space.

OKAY: Wide-spread 8" faucets, though they still require some "flossing" and present three obstacles to gather gunk /clean around.

NO THANK YOU: 4" faucets present no positives and are harder to "floss" and keep clean. However, they must be cheaper because they're quite common.

Another question is, Do you want an Escutcheon Plate under your faucet pieces? If you have extra holes that need covering, the plate may be required. If you don't need it, I personally would skip it -- as I said, it's one more thing to gather gunk around the edges. One more thing to clean, and I have better things to do with my time.
