Is there room to face the sofa towards the front foyer? A couple feet in front of the sideboard enough room to open the drawers.

To me the sideboard looks lost with no purpose where you have it so as tracefloyd said maybe try moving the furniture to embrace the sideboard if it has to stay The big chair in the corner again has no connection to the rest of the seating .You need to have some kind of focal point and to me that would be the bay so maybe 2 a bit larger chairs in the bay with a table and lamp between them and the sofa infront of the sideboard with a nice lamp on that too since I see no lighting .

How wide are the sofa and sideboard and how large is the room? It's really hard to tell from just photos.

The sofa is 7’ wide and the room is 11’7”, so not much space if I center it but I can get about 3 feet if I push it closer to the bay window. I'm not opposed to replacing the sofa if I need to.

I would not center it. I would have the conversation area right by the window.

It looks like the rug may not have to be repositioned. Get furniture sliders. Place the big armchair in the other corner.
